Things you can do for your Valentine that don't cost anything but time and effort:
~Dedicate a song on the radio ~Make a mix CD ~Write a love letter ~Give a framed photograph of the two of you ~Put candles on the table for dinner ~Give a foot/back/neck massage ~Make a list of the reasons you love her/him ~Do something little to make their day easier, like run an errand for them, do the dishes, cook if you normally don't. ~Take 5 minutes out of your busy day to make her/him feel special. A phone call, an email, an e-card, anything at all, but just give them their moment to shine for the day.
I mean, you can pull the "You should know that I love you" bullshit, but chances are that after watching everyone else's SO declare their love, your SO is most certainly NOT going to feel loved.
"This is a Hallmark Holiday" does nothing to your lover but make them feel that they don't deserve anything special.
Boycotting Valentine's Day might be your way of making a statement, but it also might be hurting your lover to feel left out, especially if they FINALLY have a partner for the world's biggest love-fest.Current Mood: disappointed
